The Power of Belief - Take What You Want for Granted
By Tania Kotsos
The power of belief is one of the keys to reality creation. To be able to consciously create your ideal reality, you must believe that you already have that which you want in the present moment. The secret to belief is to take what you want for granted. This means to believe that it has already been given to you. It has been granted, it has been received; there is no doubt.
Whatever You Have, You Take for Granted: You only take for granted those things that you already have with certainty and unwavering belief. In fact, the etymology of the word "granted" can be traced back to the Latin word credentem meaning "to believe" or "to trust". Take what you want for granted and it will be granted. Herein lies the power of belief. The words of Jesus Christ could not be clearer on this: "What things soever you ask for when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them" (Mark 11:24). The power of belief rests on faith. The kind of faith that "is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen".
The Importance of Detachment: Although it is important to be clear about what it is you want to see manifest in your life during your creative visualization sessions, it is equally important to detach from the outcome as you go about your day. By constantly wondering where something is, or why it hasn't shown up yet, or panicking that it won't, will just keep it away from you because essentially you are focusing on what you do not have. Attachment neutralizes the power of belief. Tell me, how many times has your telephone rung when you have stared at it in a desperate bid for it to ring? When you already have something, you don't sit around wondering where it is. In other words, the way to effectively detach from your intended outcome is to truly believe that you have already received it.
True Belief makes Detachment Effortless: Harnessing the power of belief comes easily when you know that whatever you visualize with concentrated thought and feeling is instantaneously created in the mental realm, which is the realm from which all things manifest. With perseverance and continued concentrated thought, your intention will materialize in the physical world, in accordance with the Law of Attraction and the other Universal Laws. Believe that you have already received what you want and you will find that detachment is effortless.
What a Difference Indifference Makes: When you truly believe you have something, that belief is underpinned by a state of indifference. This does not mean that you do not care, but rather that you are care-free, because you know that you already have that which you want, albeit still in the mental realm and on its way to the physical. It is only a matter of time, which itself belongs to the physical realm. You will know that you truly believe you have your intention when you no longer feel a sense of desperate desire. Instead, you will feel a sense of knowing and peace of mind that comes with the power of belief.
Everything is an Illusion: If you find yourself struggling to muster positive feelings or real belief about your intended outcome because your current "reality" seems far removed from it, remember that everything is an illusion. Your reality, the one you experience during your waking hours, is an illusion created by your dominant thoughts and beliefs and interpreted through your five physical senses. Yes, it is "real" in a physical sense, but in a non-physical sense it is no more real than the reality you wish to experience. This is because everything in the physical realm, whether wanted or unwanted, has its origin in the mental realm and hence, is subject to change through mental activity i.e. thought. Albert Einstein said it best: "Reality is an illusion, albeit a very persistent one".
The Power of Belief Requires Gratitude: Taking something for granted in today's society is usually equated with not being grateful for what you have. There is truth in this since most people want and hence focus on what they do not have, while failing to appreciate what they do have. In so doing, they land up attracting more of what they do not want. Whatever you appreciate appreciates - it grows. Be grateful for everything you take for granted. In other words, be grateful for everything you have been given, including your mental intentions i.e. those things that you have created in the mental realm and are on their way to the physical. Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions and together with the power of belief, it turbo charges the physical manifestation of your intended outcome.
Avoid the Extreme Emotions of Conceit and Pride: Be careful that the power of belief does not send you on a power trip. It is said, that pride in the extreme is quickly accompanied by the greatest of falls. Adhere to the advice to avoid the extremes in all things, including your emotions. Live by the maxim "everything in moderation". Take great care not to swing to the extreme of becoming conceited, overly proud and arrogantly self-assured in your certainty that your intended outcome will manifest and that now, nothing and no one can get in your way. Otherwise, you may quickly find all your efforts in that direction unravelling around you, in accordance with the Law of Rhythm. At the same time, avoid becoming overly excited at the slightest of signs that your intention is manifesting in your physical reality. The easiest way to avoid extreme emotions when taking what you want for granted, is to be grateful with an air of refined grace and inner stillness.
Create Your Ideal Reality: Remember, your reality is yours to create and if you do not like what you've created so far, you have the power to change it through the power of belief and of your thoughts. Learning how to believe is one of the keys to creating your ideal reality. You can truly be, do and have anything you intend, as long as you believe it. You may have been taught to believe only what you see, but in truth, you will see it when you believe it.
In the words of Henry Ford, "whether you believe you can, or you can't, you are right".
In a nutshell, the power of belief is key to creating your ideal reality. You must believe that you already are or have that which you intend in the present moment. The secret to belief is to take your intentions for granted to the point of indifference, not because you do not care if they materialise or not but because you know they already have. When you get into the mindset of being grateful for those things which have already been given to you, including your intentions, you will have learnt the secret to turbo charging the manifestation of your choices from the mental to the physical realm.
