Step 5 - How to Detach from the Outcome for Creative Visualization
By Tania Kotsos
The fifth and final step in the creative visualization process is to learn how to detach from your intended outcome. Detachment cannot be emphasized enough. Detach yourself from the outcome you have intend to see manifest in your life. Whenever you are attached to someone or something you effectively strip yourself of your authentic power to consciously create the life you choose. You cannot be grateful or feel unconditional love or enjoy peace of mind when you are attached to the unfolding of a specific outcome, so detach, detach, detach.
What it Means to be Detached: Detachment is a mindset. To be detached means to be at peace with what is, knowing that whatever you are experiencing, whether "good" or "bad", is a product of the creative power of your mind - all of it. To be detached is to be empowered by this knowledge that you create your reality and that you are one with the One Universal Mind - the One Creator - for whom nothing is impossible and impossible is nothing. When you are truly detached, there is no sense of desperate desire. Your desire becomes your will. Your will is your intention. It is your choice. It leaves no room for doubt. Endeavour to make the mindset of detachment part of your everyday life and of your creative visualization sessions. In so doing, you will enjoy a peace of mind far greater than you have ever experienced.
A Powerful Exercise to Learn How to Detach: Use this creative visualization technique to learn how to detach from your intended outcome. While in a relaxed state, imagining your mental images with feeling and belief, surround your intention with a brilliant white light. Imagine this warm and protective light expanding outwards until it fills the room in which you are sitting, feel it extending beyond the walls, above the height of the trees and higher still above the clouds until it extends beyond the atmosphere, beyond the solar system and becomes one with infinity - with your choice at its very centre. Mentally sense how your choices are free of any desperate sense of desire and allow yourself to experience the certainty that comes with this transformation. Then hand over your intended outcome to the All-Knowing, Universal Mind knowing that you have planted a living seed of creation in the invisible realm from which all things become manifest by Universal Law.
Making Detachment Effortless: As you learn how to detach from your outcome, you will find that thesecret to effortless detachment is faith. Not the kind of faith that is blind or based on wishful thinking but rather that which comes from "seeing" the invisible realm in the same multicolour with which you see the visible world. Detachment becomes effortless when you internalise the truth that your circumstances are simply mirroring your beliefs and that in order to see any transformation in your life, no matter how miraculous you may deem it to be, all you need do is believe it.
Detaching in the Face of Panic: Panicking that your intention may not manifest is a sure sign that you are attached. Attachment is really nothing more than ignorance of the Truth about reality creation and your thought power. Instead of trying to desperately detach from your intention in the face of panic, just take a deep breath, relax and focus on consciously understanding the truth that all is energy, that you are one with the All-Powerful Universal Mind, that you are connected to everything and everyone, that your unwanted circumstances have absolutely no creative power other than that which you give them and that your mind is the creative centre of your reality. When you know all this to be true, then panic will be transformed into certainty and the need to detach will fall away for "the Truth shall have set you free".
In a nutshell, the fifth and perhaps the most critical step in the creative visualization process is to learn how to detach from that which you intend to create in your life. Attachment in any sense is disempowering and holds you prisoner to circumstances and misconceived external forces. Detachment itself becomes easy when your creative visualization sessions are based in the kind of faith that is the "evidence of things not seen", allowing you to say with calmness and peace of mind, "this or something better".
